Description

Course Description
First we will begin by walking participants through what we mean when we say Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (“DEI&B”) so that we have the same conceptual framework as we build our conversation exploring strategies around gender inclusivity and allyship. We will also introduce what psychological safety is and outline its foundational value to this conversation. Recognizing that much of DEI&B is about winning over both hearts and minds, we will not only equip participants with the conceptual understanding of gender inclusivity (e.g., what is gender? What types of biases show up here? What are those implications?) [minds], but will also feature a personal story reiterating the importance of gender inclusivity [hearts]. We will then equip participants with actionable steps to take aligning to the four levels of allyship (individual, interpersonal, institutional, and cultural). We'll explore this from a conceptual level and then weave in tailored actions folks can take starting immediately to weave into their daily routines to uphold gender inclusivity among their teams.

Important note: We highly encourage participants of this session to have attended our previous session on Creating Psychologically Safe Organizations. Although it is not a requirement, we will build upon a lot of the ideas presented therein.
