Course Description
The world is dynamic and, as students enter the STEM workforce, they must develop flexible leadership abilities. As young engineers with fresh perspectives, SWE collegiate members have a valuable opportunity to find solutions to humanity’s great challenges. This course will discuss how you can build your leadership skills to respond to new and complex challenges, work collaboratively in a dynamic environment with innovative technology and human resource requirements, and to leverage your engineering know-how to contribute value to your team, organization, and ecosystem.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Identify 2-3 strategies for responding to workplaces challenges in real-time.
- Identify the needs of your team to work collaboratively in a dynamic landscape.

Alaina G. Levine is an award-winning entrepreneur, STEM career consultant, science journalist, professional speaker and corporate comedian. Her first book, Networking for Nerds, was published by Wiley, and beat out Einstein (really!) for the honor of being named one of the Top 5 Books of 2015 by Physics Today Magazine. She is regular speaker and consultant for SWE, as well as many other STEM-focused associations, universities, companies, and government agencies. In 2018 alone, she spoke in 7 nations, including a weeklong engagement and keynote in South Africa. She recently completed writing 2 online courses for Oxford University Press concerning career development and entrepreneurship and commercialization, is the event manager for an international conference on phononics, and will start 2019 off as a new monthly columnist for Science Magazine/ScienceCareers.Sponsor
