Creating Psychologically Safe Organizations

Course Description
First, we will begin by walking participants through what we mean when we say Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (“DEI&B”) so that we have the same conceptual framework as we build our conversation exploring psychological safety and how to operationalize it. Then we will define psychological safety, outline its value, and outline actionable advice to drive behavioral changes that lead to a more inclusive and equitable working experience for all. Then we will equip participants with actionable steps to take aligning to the four levels of allyship (individual, interpersonal, institutional, and cultural) as it relates to building psychological safety. We will also highlight the use of empathy mapping to understand how and when to use the tools in the psychological safety toolkit in order to create new habits both individually and within teams.
