Course Description
Receiving developmental feedback is a foundation for career growth yet numerous studies show that the feedback women and minorities receive isn’t specific or actionable. Your ability to ask for the feedback you need can make a large difference in achieving your career goals. This session explores best practices for managers and individual contributors to ask for, give, and receive feedback.

  • Recognize how feedback can be biased.
  • Practice asking for and receiving feedback.
  • Develop approaches for giving specific feedback.

    Dina Venezky is the Executive Director for Nondegree Programs at Smith College. She joined in Fall 2018 as part of the president’s initiative to bring Smith’s long experience in women’s education and leadership to broader audiences across the lifespan. Since joining, she has been creating new programming strategies and designing new innovative learning experiences for the Executive Education program. Education and STEM, in particular, have been passions throughout Dina’s life and she has more than 20 years of advocating for and communicating technical and business concepts in startups, government, and academia. Prior to joining Smith, Dina built online custom programs and grew the marketing and analytics portfolio for Stanford GSB Executive Education. Her corporate experience includes three startups where she consulted on data analytics, created marketing and training strategies for product launches with Fortune 500 partners, and helped build a digital printing company. She holds an AB from Smith College and a Ph.D in Geology from Brown University.
