ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Melissa Plourde has been involved with SWE since 2008 when she joined as a collegiate member at Purdue University. Since graduation, she has served in a variety of leadership positions for East Central Iowa and most recently joined the South Ohio section as the Vice President. On the Society level, Melissa was a part of the Region H Nominating Committee and participated on the Awards & Recognition Committee. Melissa is excited to be on the Leadership Coaching Committee this year as a Joint Focused Coach. She graduated with her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and has worked for General Mills in several manufacturing locations for the past 6 years. Melissa and her husband Jim live in Cincinnati, and enjoy traveling and hiking with their dog Mackey.
Ishita Mandhan has been a SWE leader since she joined the organization in 2010 having held more than 12 leadership roles. Currently, Ishita serves as the SWE Leadership Coaching Committee (LCC) Content lead and as a SWE Leadership Coach. She lives in the Greater Seattle Area, works as a software engineer at Redfin and program director at Girls in Tech.
