ABOUT THIS WEB SESSION
This web session is hosted by SWE's Women in Academia (WIA) committee.
You’ve worked hard and sacrificed a lot to earn your PhD – but that’s just the beginning of your career journey. Many engineers earning their doctorates choose the traditional academic career path, but there are many career paths for engineering PhDs! Dr. Andrea Hadjikyriacou will discuss her approach to identifying the need for and successfully securing a postdoctoral position in an industry setting. She will discuss her job roles and how she is preparing for her future career. This session is designed for graduate students and early-stage industry postdocs who are considering a research career in industry and want to learn from someone who has successfully navigated the process while maintaining a wide variety of other interests.
By the end of this session, you should be able to:
- Identify best practices for the industry postdoc job search and interview process
- Identify groups and projects that best align with your interests and future goals
- Describe how to tailor your industry postdoc for your future career goals
Join us for this live web session on Wednesday, January 22 @ 1 PM CT.
