Course Description 
This course will discuss how to effectively influence others with and without direct authority. Influence is the utilization of power to affect other people’s behaviors and achieve your goals. Particular attention will be paid to influencing upwards and ethically both personally and professionally.

Learning Outcomes
After participating, attendees should be able to:
  • Identify and outline how to effectively influence people including those over whom they have no direct authority.
  • Recognize and develop ways in which to achieve academic leadership goals through the utilization of power/currencies.
