Course Description 
This course will discuss what mentoring is and what it isn't, the different faces of mentoring, myths around mentoring principles, why mentors are important and the steps to get started as a mentor.

Madhuri D. M. has held a variety of technical and management positions in her 16 years career with IBM. With a total of 19 years experience under her belt, she is an active contributor to the diversity initiatives of IBM and a mentor to many IBMers. She organized various technical conferences like IBM Women in technology conference that helps in the development of technical leadership for women. In her current role in IBM, she primarily manages the IBM Cloud Security Advisor development mission. As a stretch assignment , she performed the Program Manager role for Technical Experts Council-India (IBM Academy of Technology Affiliate) .She has been part of SWE local executive advisory board since 2019. She loves to participate in career mentoring inside and outside IBM. She was part of panel discussions hosted by IEEE, IOTSHOW.in conferences. Madhuri has also filed a patent (issued) and has 1 publish to her credit.
