Course Description

Targeted toward SWE members who will be doing STEM outreach to girls, these modules provide an overview of who role models are and why they matter, especially to girls in STEM, give a background on gender bias as it relates to females in male-dominant academic and work environments, and provide engagement techniques to advocates.

Modules:

1. Role Models Matter 101: Who Are Role Models and Why Do They Matter
2. Role Models Matter 102: Bias Literacy
3. Role Models Matter 103: Engaging Girls in STEM
4. Role Models Matter: Kickstarting STEM Interest in Girls Ages 5-11 (Optional: Not required to earn the certificate)
